New Love Interest for White Canary

Just because our favorite heroes and villains will be bouncing through time on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, that doesn’t mean they won’t find love.

EW has learned exclusively that Ali Liebert has been tapped to play a potential love interest for Sara Lance (Caity Lotz) in an upcoming episode of The CW’s new midseason series.

The Kyle XY and Fringe alum will play Lindsay Carlisle, a soft-spoken, intelligent lady who is the ideal picture of 1950s womanhood. Although she might seem at home amongst the strict morals of the time, she harbors a dark secret: she’s a lesbian. Confused and scared, it seems she is doomed to suffer alone in a backwards time … until she falls for a girl from the future, Sara Lance.

“At the start of this episode, we find Sara Lance completely out of place, both in time and place, visiting 1958 ‘Pleasantville, America’ — and also out of place emotionally,” executive producer Phil Klemmer tells EW. “After Sara was brought back from the dead on Arrow, she hasn’t been herself — she’s been consumed by a quest for bloodshed and incapable of having romantic feelings for anyone. The strict social norms of the fifties makes this the last place Sara Lance would ever expect to find love with a young, closeted nurse, but that’s how love works — it finds you.”

‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ premiere date and synopsis: 5 reasons new show will be as good as ‘The Flash’ and ‘Arrow’

The Arrow and Flash spinoff series titled Legends Of Tomorrow will make its much anticipated debut in January 2016.

Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that the first few episodes of The Flash season 2 and Arrow season 4 will lay the groundwork of the upcoming characters of The Legends Of Tomorrow. If you are a fan of The Flash and Arrow series, you should definitely not miss this CW series.

Here are five reasons the latest CW superhero show will be as good as its parent series.

1. More time-travel: Fans of The Flash show were blown away with the time travel element in season 1, but Legends will take the time travel concept to a whole different level with the concept of alternate timelines and multiverses.

Guggenheim teased, “We’ll be going to some not just incredible places, but some incredible moments.”

Legends Of Tomorrow show runner Phil Klemmer told Entertainment Weekly “They’re screwups. Instead of tiptoeing through history, they’re plodding through it, leaving their footprints and fingerprints and constantly having to wonder whether they’re going to screw the future up rather than fix it… It’s going to be total madness,” days before the Comic Con.

“Legends of Tomorrow, all it is, is the crazy ideas. It’s bonkers,” Guggenheim teased.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow reveals Caity Lotz’s character

The Canary flies once again!

By releasing new key art for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, The CW offered up fans the first look at who Caity Lotz will be playing in the Arrow-Flash spinoff—and even revealed her character’s alter ego in the photo credits. Spoiler Alert: It’s Sara Lance! But there’s a twist: She’s now the White Canary.

How is this possible? As EW previously speculated, it could be due to the Lazarus Pits, the mythical hot tub with restorative powers that allowed Ra’s al Ghul (Matt Nable) to live much longer than humanly possible—well, until Wednesday’s Arrow finale. The pits are known to have dangerous side effects, and considering Sara was dead and buried for several months at least, this could explain why we’re seeing a very different Sara than we’re used to.

“There’s going to be some differences,” Lotz tells EW ahead of the upfront presentation. “There’s going to be some repercussions [from] whatever happened and it’s definitely going to make a difference in how she is. I’m really looking forward to it. The stuff they were telling me about it and where they’re going to go with the character is exciting.”
