DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Special Video Presentation and Q&A

After saving the world-and all of time-from the immortal madman Vandal Savage, then bidding farewell to two of their fellow comrades, Hawkman and Hawkgirl, the Legends received an unexpected visit from a mysterious new ally, Rex Tyler, who gives the team a brand new mission. What that mission is, how the Justice Society of America will factor in, and who will be aboard the Waverider when The CW’s Super Hero team-up series returns for its second season are questions that the cast and creative team will seek to answer when they descend on San Diego for their second visit to Comic-Con. From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Thursdays at 8/7c on The CW, and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow: The Complete First Season will be released on Blu-ray combo pack, DVD and Digital HD on August 23.

“Legends of Tomorrow” Renewed for Season 2!

In an unprecedented move for a broadcast network, the CW announced Friday that it has given early renewals to every current series on its schedule.

Ratings may not be all that great for some of the shows, but CW President Mark Pedowitz showed extreme confidence in his slate, ordering pickups for the 10 series comprising its current schedule as well as “Reign,” which resumes its third season next month. Given that CW has numerous pilots in contention to join the lineup next season, it’s clear that the network’s strategy will be to spread out these renewed series across fall, midseason and summer.

Among the pickups are rookie series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” and DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” and veterans “Supernatural” and “The Vampire Diaries.” “Supernatural,” which began on The WB in 2005, will be back for its 12th season, which will include the drama’s 250th episode.

The series being ordered for the 2016-17 season are: “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” (season 2), “Jane the Virgin” (season 3), “The Flash” (season 3), “iZombie” (season 3), “Arrow” (season 5), “Supernatural” (season 12), “DC’s “Legends of Tomorrow” (season 2), “The 100” (season 4), “The Vampire Diaries” (season 8), “The Originals” (season 4) and “Reign” (season 4).

“Legends of Tomorrow’s” Caity Lotz Says White Canary’s Life Hasn’t Lightened Up

If you think teaming with a group of fellow heroes in “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” has delivered the White Canary to a lighter place, Caity Lotz assures you: Sara Lance is just as tortured as ever.

After living through her harrowing death, rebirth and subsequent bloodlust on “Arrow,” it actually looked like the newly rechristened superheroine was actually having fun as one of Rip Hunter’s ragtag group of time-traveling, would-be world-savers. She smiles! She jokes! She flirts! But as Lotz reveals to CBR News, Sara still faces her share of rough road ahead.

CBR News: You were involved a very shadowy storyline for a long time on “Arrow.” What’s it been like to bring Sara into an entirely new context?

Caity Lotz: It was a little confusing at first, actually, because the first two episodes are kind of different for Sara than all the other episodes. They’re like less normal Sara, I felt like. When I first got the script, I was like, “Wait, where are we going with the character? This is just a totally different direction or what?” And they were like “No, no, no. It’s still the same.” It felt like it was almost written for a different character, and they’re like, “It’s still the same Sara. We want to keep it that way.”

So there was a little figuring out for me, I think, in the first two episodes — but those first two were all about setting everything up, too. I really get moving, more into the season, There’s some really cool Sara stuff. But yeah, it was weird at first. I was like, “Oh, my God!” I just let her have fun.
